Joseph Sanders  has a B.F.A from Florida State University in Tallahassee and an M.F.A. from Arizona State University in Tempe. He specializes in printmaking and book arts. He has served as a professor and chair of the printmaking department at the University of Georgia in Athens and as the Alan F. Rothschild Distinguished Chair and Professor of Art at Columbus State University in Columbus. His work has been exhibited in numerous national printmaking and book arts projects, more than 175 exhibitions, and many museum, academic, and library collections.
